Letter To Nancy Pelosi

Dear Mrs. Pelosi,

A great aspect of the United States of America is our men and women who choose to serve our great country in the military. They willingly do the jobs that many of us lack the courage to do ourselves. They give us confidence every night that our life, liberty, and happiness is secure. They sacrifice their own lives in order to relieve us of fears and give us peace of mind. They provide us with assurance that our children will grow up in an America that has the same opportunities of success that we have. Few things are as important to the American people than doing all that we can to help make an extremely dangerous job less dangerous. So as a fellow American I ask: please, do what you can to avoid the spread of photographs that may harm our brave soldiers. Lets not let a few bad military personal overshadow the large amount of good that our military heroes have accomplished. Let's work together as Americans to destroy the deception that people use to further recruit others to join in their extremism. Instead of releasing horrific photos by a few foolish soldiers, lets disperse photos and stories of all the great acts of the majority of our soldiers around the world. Surely these photos and stories will combat the anti-American extremists who seek to do great harm around the world. The American people appreciate and are humbled by the great sacrifice that our military men and women make everyday, please help protect them. Mrs. Pelosi, I have read that you are a woman of faith and a member of the Catholic Church so I offer my prayers that you will receive great wisdom about how to continue to handle this difficult situation.

Thank you,
Ryan Martin

  1. Dear Mrs. Pelosi,

I am concerned about the aftermath that the publication of these photos would bring to America. Viewing this situation from the standpoint of a mother, I could never imagine publishing any photo I found of my son as it would smear the family name and deeply impact each person related to him. I don't understand why we would allow the indecent and repulsive acts of a few soldiers to ruin the reputation of the many who honorably sacrifice for America on a daily basis. Lets deal with the guilty and punish them for their crimes and not let the consequences of their choices taint the honor that should be bestowed upon people who honorably sacrifice family, time, and life in order to serve for us. We allow these soldiers to give up things that we can never give back to them, lets give them honor and make sure that we keep the desire to serve our country one that can be a high calling, not something that is smeared and looked at as disgusting and repulsive because of choices a few criminals have made.

  2. As an American, I am grateful to live in a country where I can start from nothing and end up something. I am grateful for a country that lets us as a nation enjoy religious freedoms, social activities with family and friends, lets us express our opinions and, that lets us have joy if we so choose to. I am grateful for a country that lets us as American’s feel fairly safe at night, and let our children feel safe. However, I know that none of this would be possible if it were not for our brave soldiers who have died to protect this country. My heart is full to the men and women who sacrifice so much even their lives, just so we as American’s can live in prosperity. My heart is full with gratitude and thanks for those fallen soldiers and their families who had to endure losing a son, daughter, father, or mother. But their deaths will not be in vain because like many Americans, we know how important they are to our society. They are the core of what we as American’s stand for, Freedom. So I ask you, no, I beg you not to release those photos that would jeopardize our soldiers and this wonderful Nation that we live in.

“A man’s country is not a certain area of land, of mountains, rivers, and woods, but it is a principle; and patriotism is loyalty to that principle.” George William Curtis. Nancy Pelosi, ask yourself, are you being loyal to that principle?
